About Rise for Reason
A student-led movement transforming the landscape of pediatric cancer awareness and advocacy.
About Rise for Reason
Rise for Reason is a nonprofit student organization committed to pediatric cancer awareness and fundraising for pediatric cancer by engaging in student activism, education, and community outreach. We found this organization through participating in the Social Impact Leader of Tomorrow Challenge through our local DECA chapters.
Our participation led us to achieve second place at the International Career Development Conference. After the competition ended, we realized we gained a true love for the cause, which led us to where we are today. We believe that kids are capable of creating big change in the lives of pediatric cancer patients and families.
It is our mission to showcase the voices of children in the campaign against pediatric cancer by hosting inspirational events, focusing on awareness campaigns, and building effective community partnerships. Whether grand fundraising events like our annual Rise and Drive Charity Golf Tournament or advocacy through our podcast and regional events, all that we do is inspired by our mission, action, and compassion.
We are dedicated to funding research, educating about early detection, and advocating for the children and families who most need it. With heart, hustle, and a reason to rise, we believe we can create a world where no child must fight cancer by themselves.
Together, we Rise… for a Reason.

Childhood Cancer Facts
Cancer is the number one cause of death by disease among children.
Each day, 43 kids in the U.S. are expected to be diagnosed with cancer. Approximately 1 in 285 children in the U.S. will be diagnosed with cancer before their 20th birthday.
More than 95% of childhood cancer survivors experience significant health-related issues by the age of 45 because of current treatment options.
Only 4% of the billions of dollars the government spends annually on cancer research is directed towards treating childhood cancer.
